1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how the Runner Gacha team ("Runner Gacha", "we", "us") handles information when you use the website and game at https://runnergacha.com (the "Service"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
You can reach us at privacy@runnergacha.com for anything in this policy.
By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Service.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account details (optional). If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address, a display name and an authentication identifier. Accounts are optional — the game is fully playable without one.
- Messages. If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Game progress. Best scores, coins, owned skins, equipped skins, achievements, login streak, gacha pity counters and settings. Stored in your browser, and additionally on our servers if you are signed in.
- Device and usage data. Browser type and version, operating system, screen size, approximate location derived from IP address, referring page and time of visit. This is standard web-server and analytics data.
- IP address. Processed for security, abuse prevention and to deliver region-appropriate advertising.
2.3 Information we do not collect
We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data. We do not receive or store payment card details — if you buy a coin pack, the payment is handled by a third-party payment processor and we only learn that a purchase succeeded.
3. How we use information
- To run the game and save your progress.
- To sync progress across your devices and display leaderboards, if you have an account.
- To display advertising, including — where you have consented — personalised advertising.
- To measure traffic and understand which parts of the game people use.
- To detect, investigate and prevent cheating, fraud and abuse.
- To respond to your support, privacy and legal requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to build profiles for anyone other than the advertising purposes described below.
4. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. Local storage is a similar browser feature that we use for game data. We and our partners use both. A full breakdown of every category is in our Cookie Policy; in summary:
| Category | Purpose | Requires consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, load balancing, remembering your consent choice | No |
| Functional | Your game progress, sound settings, chosen difficulty | No |
| Analytics | Aggregate traffic measurement | Yes |
| Advertising | Serving, capping and personalising ads | Yes |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking functional storage will stop the game from saving your progress.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
Runner Gacha is free because it is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve ads. The following disclosures are required by Google's publisher policies:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or Google My Ad Center.
- You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices, optout.networkadvertising.org or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Google's use of information from sites that use its services is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Third-party ad servers or ad networks may also use cookies, JavaScript or web beacons in the advertisements that appear on the Service. They receive your IP address automatically when this happens. These technologies are used to measure advertising effectiveness and to personalise the ad content you see. Runner Gacha has no access to or control over the cookies used by third-party advertisers, and this Privacy Policy does not cover their practices. Consult the privacy policies of those third parties for details and for their opt-out options.
The rewarded "Watch Ad" button in the game is optional. Choosing not to use it does not restrict any part of the game.
6. Your consent choices
On your first visit we show a consent banner. Until you make a choice, advertising and analytics storage are set to denied using Google Consent Mode v2, and any ads served are non-personalised.
- Accept all allows advertising, analytics and personalisation storage.
- Reject non-essential keeps advertising, analytics and personalisation storage denied. You will still see ads; they will be non-personalised and based only on general context such as your approximate country.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Your choice is remembered for about six months, after which we ask again.
7. Who we share information with
We share personal data only with the following categories of recipient:
| Recipient | Purpose | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdSense | Serving and measuring advertising | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google Firebase | Optional accounts, progress sync, leaderboards | Firebase Privacy |
| Hosting provider | Serving the website over HTTPS | Standard server logs |
| Payment processor | Processing optional coin-pack purchases | Their own published policy |
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, the safety of users, or to investigate fraud. If the Service is ever acquired, information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will say so here before it takes effect.
8. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract — to provide the game and your account.
- Consent — for advertising cookies, personalised advertising and analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Legitimate interests — for security, abuse prevention and keeping the Service working, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where the law requires us to retain or disclose data.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to processing, including profiling for advertising.
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@runnergacha.com from the address registered on your account. We respond within 30 days. We do not charge for these requests and we will not discriminate against you for making one.
10. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, used and disclosed; to request deletion; to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, sharing data with advertising partners for cross-context behavioural advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "share" under California law. You can opt out by selecting "Reject non-essential" in our consent banner, reachable at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer. We also honour Global Privacy Control signals where your browser sends them.
11. How long we keep data
- Local game progress — until you clear your browser's site data.
- Account data and synced progress — while the account is active, and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Server logs — typically up to 90 days.
- Support emails — up to 24 months.
- Advertising cookies — as set by Google; see their policy.
12. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that threshold), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Accounts require you to meet that minimum age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email privacy@runnergacha.com and we will delete it promptly.
Where required, advertising served to users we cannot confirm are over the applicable age is treated as directed to a general audience and is not personalised.
13. Security
The Service is served over HTTPS. Account authentication and stored progress are handled by Google Firebase, which applies encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data and will notify affected users of a breach where the law requires it.
14. International data transfers
Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where data leaves the EEA or UK, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved safeguard.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect, and continued use afterwards means you accept the revised policy.
